Grooms-to-Be: Help with Your Proposal! Part 2

He rented a limo (it turned out to be a lemon so he ended up driving me); he took me to the spa for a massage/facial (but massages tend to make you sleepy); he took me to the park for a picnic and planned to propose at sundown (but he didn’t pay attention and the sun was already down); he had a stranger take pics from a tree – using a disposable camera…yeah – no focus – so you know those pics didn’t turn out at all. After I said “yes”, we headed to The Palm where our close friends and family met us for a private dinner. John did a great job. It was memorable but 1) most guys don’t plan this well and 2) there were a few minor tweaks that could have made it simply amazing…like having a professional photographer w/a super zoom at the park. My point – an engagement planner can help the groom propose in a way that will be memorable, sentimental and a personal representation of what makes your relationship special OR simply add small but needed details that are needed. First, A Little Inspiration…My Favorite Wedding Proposal

Rob and Keisha

A few years ago, this proposal slide show became an internet hit. It was an unforgettable proposal that left women all over the country hopeful and men all over upstaged.

Here is the background…

- Rob and Keisha dated for about 4 years. He knew that she was the one…but he had to save up for all that God had prompted him to do for
her. Rob, put his house up for rent, stayed with his sister and saved for her proposal and ring.
- He rented out 10 rooms in the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta’s Buckhead and invited about 50-60 people to be there for this special night.
- Keisha had to go from room to room and in each room were people who were special to them….his friends…her girls…her Bible Study group….his parents…her parents..etc.
- Everyone in each room had questions that she had to answer to be able to move to the next room and before she left each room the people there would pray over her….so you have to watch each room to see how that goes…
- He chose roses because Keisha’s aunt who passed suddenly loved roses and he bought some of the dipped
in gold because of the stories in the Bible about Solomon and how everything was dipped in gold and the song that you hear playing in the
background was the same song that was played at Keisha’s aunt’s funeral; she was like a second mom to Keisha.

This wedding proposal was well thought, well executed and incorporated key aspects of their relationship – family, friends, prayer, God, memories of loved ones. Your relationship is unique and your proposal and wedding should reflect your love.
